Who We Are

Foxglove Farm is a 120-acre farm on Salt Spring Island. The farm is one of the original homesteads on the island, surrounded by hundreds of acres of protected forest and agricultural fields, bordering Maxwell Lake.

The farm is managed by Michael Ableman and Jeanne-Marie Herman who bring a combined 65 years of full-time organic farming experience. They work with a small highly skilled crew to bring you some of the highest quality island grown farm products.

We produce strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, asparagus, French melons, greens, roots, a wide range of annual Mediterranean vegetables, as well as orchards of diverse varieties of plum, apple, pear, quince, fig, chestnut, and cherry. We also manage a small flock of laying hens, pastured pigs, and extensive fields of grains, legumes, hay, and pasture.

Our Program

We are currently not offering weekly CSA boxes. Please visit us at the Tuesday and Saturday farmer’s markets.

June boxes may include asparagus, kale, chard, lettuce, carrots, beets, radish, peas, fresh herbs, and late in the month raspberries and possibly cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers.

July boxes may include kale, chard, lettuce, cabbage, carrots, beets, radish, peas, fresh herbs, strawberries, tomatoes, peppers, squash, beans, and possibly melons.

August boxes may include tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, kale, chard, lettuce, carrots, beets, radish, fresh herbs, potatoes, strawberries, melons, ginger, beans, squash, and blueberries.

September boxes may include tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, kale, chard, lettuce, carrots, beets, radish, fresh herbs, potatoes, strawberries, melons, ginger, winter squash, apples, pears, and blueberries.
